[Some tests - Beowulf]

I try to do some several tests on beowulf if i have the time.

Why ?

I need it for dominate the world and some time for my daily job.

I use proxmox for my virtualisation need.
I always encrypt my hard drive and use lvm on it. Sometimes i use raid but ceph look good but i need hardware for that.
I use xfs but maybe i should migrate to btrfs tell me.

For Desktop i use i3, i want sway but i love network functionalities on X11. And some of my coworker use kde and xfce.
I try to take care about privacy.
I want to improve qualities and security on free software.

I love rfc and standard.

I will add info when work & test are done

❲❳ --> not start
❲✗❳ --> currently failed
❲✓❳ --> work

Tests cases :

General :

Respect the debian naming convention should be better for iso …
2 mini .iso for 2 architectures is not fun for my wget.

web server  :
- apache
- php
- postgresql
- mpm_itk
- nextcloud and some others

** debian testing -> devuan testing
❲❳

** devuan stable -> devuan testing
❲❳

seed box
- transmission-daemon
- amuled
- smb
❲❳

** debian testing -> devuan testing
❲❳

** devuan stable -> devuan testing
❲❳

KDE
- full KDE setup
❲❳

I3
- full i3
❲❳

XFCE
- full xfce
❲❳

If you know how to make some unit testing on the UI tell me i try to automate it.
I want to focus several tasks (i already have done an email about that). Make it better and provide good default (usable out of the box) configuration but allow easily to advances users to custom there setup.

Desktop :
- web browsing
- music player
- text editing
[...]

Dev :
- Desktop +
- edi
- needed language package

Art :
- Desktop +
- needed software

Gamers, etc

Feel free to ask me more information and/or tell me advices

i was running transmission-daemon 2.94 on a devuan beowulf server for a short while (about a month) without any problems. apache2 (no php) running there also, https enabled using certbot from official repos. it was just for evaluation, so it's down at the moment.. but everything was working smoothly, no issues. let me know if i can help with any configs there smile

p.s. i had issues with transmission-daemon 2.92 on ascii, taking too much ram and initiating oom-killer at some point to kill daemon completely, just after a few hours running, with ~200 torrents. found an upstream bug fixed in version 2.94, so moved to beowulf cause of that.. (dist-upgraded ascii -> beowulf). and issue was gone...

I will setup a seedbox for share all linux iso.

I want do rss > torrent.

Maybe the devuan team should think about provide the rss.

We already do on the index page of https://devuan.org/ under the Get Devuan header:

You can also download Devuan using our release torrent or magnet link.

And at https://files.devuan.org/devuan_ascii.torrent and https://files.devuan.org/devuan_jessie.torrent
