#2576 Re: Devuan Derivatives » Hyperbola Thread » 2018-05-25 03:18:15

I think that's a solution in need of a problem but I understand where you're coming from and why.

#2577 Re: Devuan Derivatives » Hyperbola Thread » 2018-05-25 01:31:21

Hyperbola has requested to be acknowledged on our init freedom page and that is being discussed.  dxrobertson is correct that it is arch-based and only uses parts of devuan so not really a devuan derivative.  More of a chimera.

Probably.  Should I move it?  [DONE]

Yes.

Good grief.   I censored nothing only removed outdated, irrelevant information.  I politely suggested where to go to get the most accurate answers to your questions.  Why does everything have to be an explosive confrontation with you?

Have you never looked at the footer of the website?

This section is for communities to gather in their native languages.

Your post is out of place here.  Please address all Devuan trademark questions to Dyne and other trademark issues to their respective owners.   Any derivative discussion can go under the Derivatives forum.

This should clarify another one of your questions.

<KatolaZ> this is a fact
<KatolaZ> that figos does not even mention devuan
<KatolaZ> so it can't be considered a devuan derivative
<KatolaZ> fullstop
<KatolaZ> end of discussion

#2586 Re: Desktop and Multimedia » How do you encrypt files? » 2018-05-21 16:59:36

I have never ventured into Tomb territory.  It might suit your purposes if you put a little effort into it and is an "in house" solution.

Nope, it didn't.  It's sitting on my desktop.

Ha!  They're going to make me download it!!

View Raw

(Sorry about that, but we can’t show files that are this big right now.)

Thanks for doing that.  Watched the whole thing. That was just what I was looking for.  Well done!  Unfortunately, it went by in quadruple speed!   If that was in real time, you must have some roadrunner genes!!!

#2589 Re: Intergalactic Communities » Documentation in Portuguese » 2018-05-20 23:05:02

Nice to see you pekman.  I noticed the sites you set up are no longer available.  sad

#2590 Re: Devuan Derivatives » crunkbong is looking for testers » 2018-05-20 05:56:05

fig, it might have been "cleaner" to start a new thread about your stuff where it could grow and just link to it here.  Maybe you'd consider doing that so it doesn't get all mixed up in the crunkbong discussion . . .

#2591 Re: Installation » Manual Install Lightdm Polkit Problem » 2018-05-18 21:46:01

@fsmithred . . . would be a good idea to have a thread here listing backend combos needed for each desktop that we could link to.

#2592 Re: Installation » Manual Install Lightdm Polkit Problem » 2018-05-18 21:32:32

This comment is from our last meet.  Someone else reported a similar problem with KDE:

(KatolaZ) Installation of the correct set of polkit stuff is guaranteed only through task-*-desktop

We should probably list somewhere exactly what packages are needed for which desktop.

Yes, I know that. When sda6 became sda5, I still had to resize it to get the unallocated space merged into the partition.

Exactly.   Happy to hear you got that worked out.

I'm not assuming, I'm going off of past experience. It did when I was triple booting and deleted the middle partition, sda5. Then sda6 became sda5 (my current sda5).

The drive numbering and size/location of the partition on the disk are two different things.

I will add here for the record that fsmithred's firemenu is a simple text dialog option to firejail that uses yad iirc.

I just checked and I don't have linux-headers-generic available in jessie or ASCII.  There are plenty of linux-headers-* for various kernels and pae etc.  Maybe you need linux-headers-common?
