Raspberry Pi OS and sudo

Hello:

Article from yesterday's edition of The Register:

-------------------------------------------------------
Raspberry Pi OS ends open-door policy for sudo
Command prefix will require password by default
by Richard Speed

https://www.theregister.com/2026/04/15/ … /?td=rt-3a

Good idea but not new, PCLinuxOS took this stance many years ago:

Of course.

The pcmagos article made direct reference (~14 years ago) to "The Manner Of The Buntus" which, quite obviously subverted the way to use sudo properly and now RPiOS is catching up.

Re: Raspberry Pi OS and sudo

....and it wasn't that long ago that the default user was 'pi', but at least now they ask at installation.... big_smile

But it still annoys me that they take over the whole disk.....
