Programs that live their own lives.

Here is one of them.
I have a laptop with Synaptic TouchPad and Daedalus installed.
Default

synclient -l
...
MaxSpeed = 1.7

Add to

etc/X11/xo/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/70-synaptics.conf

Option "ManSpeed" "1"

We get

synclient -l
...
MaxSpeed = 2.5

Where did this figure come from?
We change it to another value, and we get another result that does not coincide with the specified one.

"ManSpeed" ?

That looks like a "portmonnaie" word of MinSpeed and MaxSpeed.

There is a "man synaptics" to read.

"portmonnaie" ??? Hmm

porte-monnaie in English

  • noun purse [noun] a small bag for carrying money

Do you mean Portmanteau, a word formed as a blend / concatenation between two other words?

I'm sorry, it was my mistake, I was in a hurry. sad
Of course "MaxSpeed"  is in the options.

There is a "man synaptics" to read.

No, we are writers, not readers. smile
