I have a usb wireless mouse for specific purposes, but it refuses to start on devuan. I wondered, if someone could give me a bunch of ways to do so.
I have yet to get it working. Its possible that debian did something stupid that makes this complicated... idk.
I have no problem on Hyperbola with this issue, its just annoying as can be on devuan though.
What packages typically does it require to get a usb mouse working such as M650 L LEFT?
Do i need to modprobe something? I am using openrc, so if you have sysvinit ideas, adapt them please.

well, desktop environment can make a pretty big difference. Have you checked to see if the USB mouse works at the greeter? (If its a mouse-enabled greeter like slick or sddm?) What DE are you using?

Logitech, the battery is charged, it works on Hyperbola as I said above, but not devuan.
Although, lsusb isn't available either... which is weird.

Unplug the mouse, run "tail -f /var/log/syslog > capture.log", then plug in the mouse and then type ctrl-C to stop the tail. Then drop in the log into a code box here.

Without the quotes, it said permission denied for some reason. No idea why.

I own a small wireless mouse by Trust, item no. 20322-09. It runs on 2 AAA cells. The Bluetooth? dongle is stored inside the mouse when its not used. This mouse has an on/off switch.
I am mainly using it on my laptop. It worked out of the box with Chimaera and Daedalus, in both cases LightDM/Cinnamon as DE. No special action required. I can start the laptop, and plug in the mouse when I am logged in. It works.

I should probably mention, I gave up. But if your curious as to if I ran root, no.
Also, no idea of wayland was causing the problem or not... but its weird, Hyperbola 0.4.4, a lot less packages and by default the usb mouse worked, but in Devuan 12 which has many newer packages, not so much.
Its bonkers...
Maybe I needed xfce or mate though?
Idk... so weird.
But since I stopped gaming again, it matters not.
