I read this thread a couple of times, hoping to extract a clear pathway to what I need, but it's just too case-specific ...

I have a Dell OptiPlex 7050 SFF with two 400GB server-rated SSD's.

I'd like to set them up as Raid 1 to use in a light duty online server application.

I looked here https://www.devuan.org/os/documentation … all-devuan and don't see a Raid 1 Server install process.

It all happens in the partitioning step:

first you declare partitions for use in raid setup
then you set up the raid device linking it to its partitions
and then you partition that into the filesystem partitions you want

If you want the full disks as raid members, then you skip to step 2 directly, and create a RAID device...

are you saying that that link doesn't work for you, or
that there is a link on that page that doesn't work for you?
If the latter, which link?

EDIT: hmm you have a / at the end of it, and having that seems to not bring the right page.

EDIT2: where did you find that bogus one, with a / at the very end?

I added the "/" because without it the Download link doesn't work at all - it just twitches the display then returns to the same page.

I'm using the Ghostery Dawn (Firefox shell, I believe) browser.

There's no indication of a pop-up block or anything.

Well, https://www.devuan.org/get-devuan.html is the correct one which also references the actual html file; the abbreviation link (without .html) also works, but via server re-writes.

Obviously they don't work for you, which is slightly more difficult to debug. It'd be either your browser wanting to be helpful and intelligent, or something "environmental" relating to your Internet access.

Perhaps you can install "surf" and try with that?

OK, well, rather than fight with the button ... the other synapse fired and I realized that I could just go directly to the mirrors ... duh.

I'll burn "devuan_chimaera_4.0.2_amd64_desktop-live.iso" to a USB stick, make sure Devuan can see the Dell OptiPlex 7050 hardware (VOID could not) - then proceed to the install.

I'll probably be back here ... tomorrow ... with more questions.

Well ... Devuan is having the same problem as VOID - the wired connection cycles up and down.

I don't see an app in the menu to look at the hardware devices, so I just used "lspci".

I'm told that the probable reason for the instability is that the Intel I219-LM isn't recognized.

Any suggested solution, please? (I'm guessing I need a stable wired connection for the server-purposed install.)

Devuan also failed to recognize the USB nic (MX Linux handles it, VOID did not).

Need to sleep so will look here in the morning.

NOTE: I started a new thread for the LAN problem and the Intel I219-LM.

Doing a few tests I found the certificate seems to be expired. Which Konqueror doesn't mind but wget objects to:

Note that the certificate was Issued On Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:55:06 AM and it Expires On Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 10:55:05 AM, so something strange is happening here.

Please do the following to download the certificate complained about

echo -n | openssl s_client -connect www.devuan.org:443 -servername www.devuan.org \
    | openssl x509 > /tmp/wwwdevuanorg.cert

and then upload that to ~~pastebin.debian.org~~ for us to review.

The certificate was updated 2 weeks ago, and is valid some 8 or so weeks more. So there shouldn't be or have been any warnings.

I'm still getting them. On two different systems (one Devuan ascii, one openSUSE Leap 42.3).

I also tried echo -n | openssl s_client -connect www.devuan.org:443 -servername www.devuan.org | openssl x509 > wwwdevuanorg.cert, that gets different screen output:

Though the certificates downloaded were identical on both systems.

I doubt it's cached, the openSUSE box isn't used for web browsing so has probably never downloaded the certificate before I first tried yesterday.

But on a web server I can log on to via ssh (I do some of the admin on it) wget is happy:
