(jessie to beowulf) restart / shtudown greyed out

Hello,

have upgraded to computer to Beowulf and
encountered the following

the "Restart" and "Shutdown" button is greyed out;
the computer is functioning normal well,
but i seem not be able to hibernate/suspend and restart / shutdown via the Applications Menu command.

Is there something i am missing?

have installed the Firmware-AMD-package.

Make sure that policykit-1-gnome is installed.
See the section on Session Management and policykit backends in the beowulf release notes:

You might want to switch from consolekit to elogind.
