I have Devuan installed on a RAID0 array. The install seemed to go ok but it won't boot. I am wondering if I can forget grub and just boot the kernel directly. I also have Artix Linux running on the same RAID0 and that is the way it works. I copied the Artix kernel and initramfs to a subdirectory on the efi partition and used efibootmgr to create a new entry in the UEFI boot menu. Artix Linux boots right up; no grub required. I'm wondering if I can do the same with Devuan?

Yes: https://wiki.debian.org/EFIStub
EDIT: and for Artix you will need to copy the kernel & initramfs over to the ESP whenever it is updated so see also https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/EFI_sy … unt_points (or remount /boot to the ESP).
