Runit problem - Devs heads up

I did a fresh install on a new computer and chose runit during the installation.
After reboot I could not do typing, could not enter X.

I wiped the partition, and reinstalled, installing this time Sysvinit, rebooted and no problems, everything was hunkydorry.

last week i installed chimaera with runit + MATE using chimaera installer iso  (netinstall). no such problem after booting into new system.
you probably need to give some more info on the medium used for installation...

Netinstall iso > Expert
the kbd did not work, reboot from the console did not work, etc

That sounds like my experience once trying to install from a beta debian netinstall on PowerPC
Have done plenty of Devuan Beowulf and Chimaera expert installs with runit and no problems so far - perhaps your ISO was faulty?
