NVIDIA-driver issue - KDE desktop

Very strange, but it has been a continuous issue on three computers now, and for a while really; if I try to use the repository NVIDIA compiled packages, say trying to install 'nvidia-driver' (meta package), I am forced tor deinstall all the KDE environment?

Any suggestions to this?

Cheers,
Olav

Re: NVIDIA-driver issue - KDE desktop

Try installing it with aptitude and see if it gives you any other options or information about the nature of the conflict.

Thank you, working on it now, it gave some more info.
I'll come back with more info later.

Re: NVIDIA-driver issue - KDE desktop

It seems, so far, that the issue with dependencies (not met and, thus, suggestions to deinstall {almost} all of KDE) are resolved if I install the «nvidia-driver-bin», with recommended packages (some in - some out), before I proceed with the «nvidia-driver» installation.
