Updates

On my 32 bit system I found to dismay that the system was downloading updates and filling up the cache directory.

I have auto-updates turned OFF here:

/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/10periodic.

has:

APT::Periodic::Unattended-Upgrade "0";

Is there a way to prevent this totally?

I do not want *anything* updating or downloading without my express permission.

Re: Updates

Uninstall ' unattended-upgrades' if installed. Another way try with  " #  APT::Periodic::Unattended-Upgrade "0"; "

That _should_ be the default on all systems.
