kingspec ssd install requests drivers

Hi

Attempting to install to a Kingspec P3-128 (http://www.kingspec.com/products_detail … Id=74.html) SSD

Installer asks for driver.

I can't locate a driver.

Any suggestions?

Re: kingspec ssd install requests drivers

Are you sure you need one? At what point in the installation is it asking for a driver, and what does the message say?
Did you choose expert or regular install?

Re: kingspec ssd install requests drivers

Hi fsmithred

I  chose regular install.

The message said that I needed a driver for the hard drive. It gave me a long list of options and the option to select a driver from external media. I've used the kingspec a number of times for a number of distros. It currently has alpine os on it.

I'm going to try the install in a different laptop.

I'll get back with an update ASAP

Re: kingspec ssd install requests drivers

Thankfully (sort of) it was a hardware issue. The drive wasn't slotting in correctly. I think I was panicked by the installer suggesting drivers, although in all fairness it did say hard drive not detected. I should have known better to first explore the hardware itself.

Thanks for your patience. Long time debian user and I've been meaning to migrate to devuan for some time. I chose KDE and it's looking very good.

Thanks.
