Xsane bad scan image quality

I am scanning a document on my brother printer, and the quality is very low, and it's pixelated.  How do I fix this?

In "Document Scanner" you can change the resolution to your liking. Try that.
I use Document Scanner, version 46.0
Xsane should do the same, just explore it.

used this software when i had problems installing scanner on linux; getting to function.

it is good for testing purpoese, but leaves a watermark.
(needs to be paid for full-version)
