Hi
I'm about to buy a book for system administrator and configuration, but I'm not sure which one to choose, my current choice is "UNIX and Linux System Administration Handbook", but there are many others, are there any who have good experience and and tips! to give.

Don't get "Hacking Exposed, Linux 3rd edition", waste of money, not nearly enough detail to be white/grey hat workable.
I ended up with a list of things to look up/research that would only lead me to paying for classes in an online hacking course, unless I knew sombody with the knowledge.
Quite expensive too. If it wasn't so costly I would have not mentioned this book.

Depending on how deep you intend going, but O'Reilly Server Hacks 1 & 2 might fit the bill, otherwise, perhaps, The Linux Command Line might suit.

For a very basic, but accurate and instructive lecture,
all of them distro-neutral, you could check and try these:
Running Linux: A Distribution-Neutral Guide for Servers and Desktops 5th Edition
Linux Network Administrator's Guide: Infrastructure, Services, and Security 3rd Edition
DNS and BIND: Help for System Administrators 5th Edition
Possibly your most helpful link:
https://tldp.org/guides.html
--> Bash Guide for Beginners
--> Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
--> The Linux System Administrators' Guide
I based the Linux courses i developed on these resources as well.
Have a look.

@devur
your book in question seems perfectly good; I just had a brief look (4th ed).
It's intended for SysAdmins and it covers most of what should be covered. I like it.
It's just: huge

I have a well thumbed copy of Hacking Linux Exposed which I found very useful. But I got it about 20 years ago so it was more up to date then and I didn't pay full price.
It would still be worth getting if you find a cheap copy. Or you need to concentrate on security for UNIX systems (it only covers security, not other server admin work).
