KDE Discover app not working, claims no Internet connectivity

When I try to use the Discover app I just get a spinning icon that says "Still looking..."  I back up one screen and it says:
"Unable to load applications.
Please verify Internet connectivity."

But I DO have Internet connectivity.  I can bring up Konqueror or Firefox and surf the web and ping various web servers.

This is probably related to the fact that when I click the Networks icon in the system tray it says:
"No available connections"

This is on a desktop PC using the wired ethernet port built-in to the motherboard.

It seems that some parts of KDE are not recognizing the existing and working ethernet connection.

Any suggestions?

Discover is broken in Devuan.
