i tested slimjet and i think (due i dont use youtube to work) its the most efficient and faster browser!

YouTube is very handy if you want to work on your hardware, the odds are fairly good someone else has taken one apart and posted the video of it.

The main 'selling point' that was used for Google Chrome to beat Firefox for market share was it was faster.

Turning Firefox into Mozilla Chrome seems to be Mozilla's answer.
Though some of the decisions they have made make me wonder who the Firefox developers really work for.

For those who want Firefox Quantum without a dependency on Pulseaudio there is this:

Now on with my search for a browser that I can live with, that is able to handle the 'modern' internet.

In the process of trying to speed it up I was looking at what was actually needed for booting my system and one of the things I noticed was avahi was being loaded, so I looked into if I could remove it. If I do not use something I prefer to remove it rather than disable it, as I know when updates happen configuration files sometimes get overwritten or replaced.

At first I could not understand why removing a dns discovery program would require removing gtk3 but when I found out that avahi was developed by Lennart Poettering it became much clearer.

Everything must depend on everything else so that all the components of the monolith are present.

Philosophically Devuan seems to carry on the original idea of Debian, where it was intended to be a kit to build your own system or distro upon rather than complete and loaded with what someone else thinks you should want.

In my opinion that is a very good thing, but then I know my tastes and wants are not for everyone.

Well if no one else will do it I will ask for a 64 bit version, please.

Yes, the computer I plan to put it on will handle more bling, but I want speed not bloat.
