You can put
ALWAYS_SET_PATH yes in /etc/login.defs to get an approximation of the old behavior.
Or put the system administration directories (/sbin, /usr/sbin, /usr/local/sbin) in your regular account's PATH.

As an aside, commands in the openbox autostart file shouldn't be backgrounded unless they need to be: test for this by running the command in a terminal, if the prompt is returned then do not add an ampersand — we noticed problems with race conditions in BunsenLabs if ampersands were added unnecessarily.

If you do get the native window manager menu on right-click, you need to run pcmanfm --display-pref to get the the desktop settings. (to change the wallpaper again after enabling the wm menu)

I checked pcmanfm, but I couldn't find a setting for the desktop background.
The command to allow PCManFM to set wallpapers and enable the use of desktop icons is:
pcmanfm --desktopThe native desktop menu of the window manager will be replaced with that provided by PCManFM. However, it can easily be restored from the PCManFM menu itself by selecting
Desktop preferencesand then enabling the
Right click shows WM menuoption in the Desktop tab.

I live in the free country of America where living only 20 miles from the Microsoft headquarters I pay $140/month for 2 to 5mb/s with a 40gb data cap. For a fiber-optic internet with a speed of 10-15 GB / s, I pay 17 euros per month. It is a medium-speed internet, with no download limit (no data cap), the speed of which is quite sufficient for me. For the highest speed fiber internet (50 GB / s), I would have to pay about 35 euros per month.

So, am I to understand that the --no-install-recommends flag means that all required dependencies will not necessarily be met when installing a package using it?
It means, that only the main dependencies (packages in the Depends field) are installed. Installing with --no-install-recommends skips all recommended packages.

I had, for a time, a moderately spec'd desktop that could do a cold start in under 10 seconds, using an SSD, running Funtoo.
My Debian machine do a cold start in uder 10 sec. Same with Devuan Ascii. Of course I don't use any display managers, or DE. Only
startx and old good iceWM.
