Thanks for the update.  That looks really nice!

#1227 Re: Hardware & System Configuration » Question about upgrade kernel » 2022-05-26 16:25:10

There is no Devuan 10. Devuan Releases are listed HERE.

#1228 Re: Other Issues » [SOLVED] Install Docker. » 2022-05-23 13:38:54

Welcome to the forum . . .

Unofficial docker images for all Devuan releases including Devuan 4 Chimaera are available here. They are prepared and supported by paddy-hack and jaromil.

#1230 Re: Hardware & System Configuration » Renew my ip address (dhclient not found) » 2022-05-21 20:34:17

erdos . . . next time make sure to read the Release Notes that accompany each new release.

Welcome to the forum!

No it isn't.  You can search for available packages HERE.

#1232 Re: Devuan » [SOLVED] pkgmaster.devuan.org unaccessible through IPv6 » 2022-05-13 20:44:37

I do not know about IPv6 but County codes do not work in Devuan.  Here are some useful links to help you sort things:

https://www.devuan.org/os/packages
http://pkgmaster.devuan.org/mirror_list.txt]mirror list

#1233 Re: Other Issues » (android-platform-tools) missing? » 2022-05-08 19:41:33

That request should be directed to Debian not Devuan.  smile

#1237 Re: Other Issues » [SOLVED] Synaptic No Longer Shows Repositories » 2022-04-28 02:11:32

The Ubuntu reference indicates that it might be self-inflicted:

From: https://www.devuan.org/os/packages

Devuan package repositories are exclusive. Other repositories, including Debian, Ubuntu, Mint etc, should NOT be used directly.

#1239 Re: Devuan » [SOLVED] Existential doubt » 2022-04-17 20:26:40

Also check backports to see if it might be there.

#1240 Re: Devuan » [SOLVED] Existential doubt » 2022-04-17 19:37:30

It does.

The canonical answer is here:
https://www.devuan.org/os/releases

And here:

This is what I don't understand

Why cant the community fork or pull soyd/dbus/avachi from opensource programs?

Does the soydless community even have a plan of action to go ahead ?

There are talkers and doers. Until you become a doer, silence is the best option. Perhaps you'll find a more appreciative audience elsewhere . . .

Why don't we fork systemd instead? Let's just remove unneccessary parts. Can't we do that? Wouldn't it be better? Or worse?

Why would anyone want systemd in the first place?

#1243 Re: Devuan » Devuan look and feel » 2022-04-15 01:58:57

@czeekaj - There has been a customized Clearlooks-Phenix-* theme for each Devuan release. Take a look here for some theming tips.  Clearlook-Phenix is down the page a bit. Might give you some ideas.

#1244 Re: Off-topic » What are you reading/want to read ? » 2022-04-09 02:47:40

I would have actually enjoyed American history class if this had been the guide. No such luck as the book hadn't been written yet!
A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn.

Debian and Linux forums couldn't help yet in the same timeframe!

We are here and they are there for many reasons, one of which you just discovered.

You don't owe me anything, I'm just a lowly user who works on other FOSS, but FWIW I find this lacking.

Not going to waste anymore time on this as any answer I provide would not satisfy you.

If you would like more detailed documentation provided:

1. join the Devuan Team
2. get to know us and how we collaborate
3. write the documents you desire to meet your expectations

Waiting for this part to be revised once some under-18 users complain (which they should)...

Some under 18 are more adult than many over 18.  IOW, maturity is not a number and hopefully those who come here will attempt to understand that.

I am on sid Devuan

Just to reduce confusion for new readers . . .

There is Debian sid.

There is no Devuan sid.

There IS Devuan ceres.

Devuan ceres identifies, works around some and blacklists other systemd dependencies in Debian sid.
