xhost error

I have Cinnamon, Hyprland and xlibre installed on Devuan Ceres with sysvinit. When I go to run an x11 app in Hyprland, I get the error about 'unable to open display "" '. The app opens fine on Cinnamon with xlibre. I'm just drawing a blank trying to remember what I need to start with Hyprland when I start Hyprland. Hard to make sense of Google results as most are from 16 plus years ago.

You don't mention having previously attempted doing the same with Excalibur (stable) or Freia (testing).
Asking because Ceres (unstable) does not seem a good first choice to figure out how/if [Hyprland] works with Devuan and [x11] applications.

I've run Hyprland several times on Devuan. Stable and Ceres. There are services that you have to start in the Hyprland config or else you won't be able to run them. Its not like systemd, where systemd automatically starts and handles most services. pipewire has to be started in the hyprland config with sysv or else you won't have it when you log into hyprland.
