Azure and waagent?

I see that there's a waagent package in apt. From what we've seen it seems to just get errors attempting systemd commands (systemctl I believe).

Is there some way to get that agent working? All I seem to be finding is this:

I honestly didn't even want to think about that approach but I can't get any farther than python errors trying any of that.

Is there some viable way yo get that working?
