Installing Devuan in public places, for example, libraries, is almost always problematic. The installation fails during DHCP acquisition in libraries that require either a password or clicking on a browser field. The funny thing is, Debian and Manjaro install without a DHCP problem. Does Devuan have lower timeouts? I don't see a way to adjust DHCP, but is there some way?

I guess you have tried to install with a netinstall-iso.
Try your luck with a desktop-iso
i.e. https://files.devuan.org/devuan_excalib … esktop.iso
if you really have to install in a public place or library.
Desktop-isos are fully contained isos for standard hardware.

Oops, sorry, I should have specified the media I used. I agree, a network-iso would be totally dependent upon the network. I did use a desktop-iso. And this is not the first time DHCP has been an issue.

Okay, I solved the problem by ignoring the screens after DHCP and continuing with installation. I had to manually edit sources.list, but that's no big deal.
Dear Devuan developers: you set DHCP timeouts too low during installation. That's a bug that needs to be fixed.
