[SOLVED] Mirrors not Working? (24 Nov)

I'm trying to install Excalibur but getting a message when I get to the point of chosing a sources mirror that it cannot be reached.  I have tried some other countries' mirrors and nothing works - except on one attempt I did somehow get though to something only for it to be very slow and then got stuck. My network is working and from a rescue mode I can ping (for example) deb.debian.org, but not deb.devuan.org. Shouldn't I be able to?

I am installing from a pen drive which was successful a few days ago on another PC.

Update : An hour later, trying again, it worked. Installation complete, and deb.devuan.org is now answering ping.
When it came to chosing a mirror I went for Luxembourg this time (I am in the UK) and it seemed fairly fast.

Re: [SOLVED] Mirrors not Working? (24 Nov)

deb.devuan.org is an alias for deb.rr.devuan.org. And that's a round robin list of IP addresses. Some ISPs don't like that setup.
Whereas deb.debian.org is just one system.

What country are you in? You will probably need to use a mirror in your country (or a nearby country). Try host deb.devuan.org to get the list of IP addresses, then check where each IP address is, eg host 185.236.240.103 (that one's in Poland). Ping the few nearest mirrors and try the first that responds.

Edit. Cross posted with his update, glad to see it's sorted.
