Trashed USB firmware

I toasted a perfectly good laptop install by hosing the USB firmware update that was posted the other day.

Details: My touch pad is configured not to function if my USB mouse is connected. The firmware update was clear that USB should not/could not be in use while applying the update but for whatever reason, the touch pad would not work when I removed the USB dongle. It has always kicked in before whenever I removed the USB dongle but failed to in this case. Anyway, since I couldn't easily navigate to apply the update without a mouse, I left the USB dongle attached and applied the firmware update with the USB mouse... The update applied but now USB is totally non-functional on the laptop, which is a huge inconvenience.

I need to know how to apply/re-apply the USB firmware to a otherwise functional install. Running Daedalus on a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15ITL6.

Re: Trashed USB firmware

First of all I would look into the Bios and check the USB settings. And then possibly try "Load optimized defaults".
