Hi all,
After the system upgrade to Daedalus it was not possible anymore to use Sylpheed to send or receive emails.
Two accounts are configured from two big email providers.
A message box appears showing an error: Could not establish a connection to the server.
The log windows shows:

It was working very fine in Chimaera.
Is it just me or a general issue?

** LibSylph-WARNING: [16:06:22] Could not get OAuth2 token.
Does it even support OAuth2?
I haven't found anything simpler than Thunderbird.

I don't know why it is trying to use Oauth2.
It tries so for gmail and also for yandex mail.
Before the upgrade this was working very well, no problems at all.

As far as I know, this program does not work with gmail and yandex mail. You should thank gmail's "security" policy for that.

But used to work before the upgrade.
I haven't yet configured my own email server, so, I'm still using the devil's tools.
Well, the internet cables, routers and backbone servers are all theirs, as well.

What happens if you tell it to use googlemail.com instead of gmail.com ? I have one system using kmail where it insists on using the wrong type of auth for gmail.com but I can get it to work with googlemail.com (it's kmail being "clever" that causes the problem). I can't check details on that system just now though, sorry.
That took quite a lot of puzzling to work out.

I already solved this.
In menu Configuration | Edit accounts | Edit | Receive
the IMAP4 authentication method was set to Automatic.
There is an option to OAuth2. Probably the automatic was using OAuth2, according to instructions from
Set up Gmail with a third-party email client
https://support.google.com/a/answer/9003945
Any of the options 'LOGIN' or 'PLAIN' are good to be able to connect to the gmail account.
Thank you all for your support.

Are you saying that you are now able to retrieve email from your Gmail account without using OAuth2?
Yes, I am, through an email client.
If you read the web page I linked above you find this section:
If you must use Gmail with older versions of Outlook, or other mail clients that don't support OAuth, follow the steps in this section
And follow the instructions.
Hope this helps.
