A new desktop

Hi
I rebuilt gnome-shell for devuan beowulf, if anyone wants to try it  find the instructions here:

the sources unlike mate and cinnamon are those of debian, let me know if something is wrong

If I may, the command to download and add the keyring is slightly off on the linked page above.  This worked:

wget http://hezeh.org/packages/antofox-keyrings && apt-key add antofox-keyrings

I have not seen or used gnome in over 5 years.  I will give it a test.  Thank you.

The echo commands won't work because the root privileges conferred by sudo do not apply after the redirection (>>).

Use a here document instead:

sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list <<!
deb http://hezeh.org/packages beowulf main contrib non-free
deb-src http://hezeh.org/packages beowulf main contrib non-free
!

And I'm also pretty sure you don't need the contrib & non-free components.

Meh, I still wonder why people use DE's... apart from Lumina anyways.

But if you enjoy it well, alright.

I myself use i3-wm.
