Of course this has nothing to with Beowulf, but rather with Buster (I guess).
Mini install with mini.iso, X, Openbox and Tint2. Dunst, libnotify-bin and here I am with "Battery low" message sitting on screen.
Only battery that I am aware of on this PC is bios battery, which I doubt this message is referring to.
Kinda stupid situation, dont know whether to cry or laugh, or even ask you what to do.

Do you have a power manager installed? Maybe its just a standard message when the manager cant find a battery. I would be annoyed if it keeps happening, but if it is a one off message i wouldnt worry about it.

It's the "brand new" tint2 (16.6.1-1), which is far from good shape, as many other programs.

Why do you think it's tint2? Do you still get the message if you start openbox without tint2?
You should probably post your tint2rc & openbox autostart file along with the output of
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/openbox-xdg-autostart --list
o9000 is a superb developer and very responsive to issues opened on their gitlab account so I would recommend getting in touch if this really is a problem with tint2.

It was gone until I started using tint2 conf tool (tint2conf IIRC) again (maybe I was using it prior to "accident", dont remember).

Thats great news, I checked and it seems indeed as you described.
Bug report? IDK. Would like to use old version instead of apt provided one, but that's another topic...

Yeah i think tint2 has a small script for getting battery info, so you should post up that tint2rc as headstick mentions.
This would have to be the problem, just take out this section of the tint2rc.

Tint2 rocks, most unix and linux distributions have it in their package managers.
