Cloud Init support on pre-installed images

Hey guys,

Any chance to provide Devuan images with cloud-init ready to go?

Similar with those:

http://uec-images.ubuntu.com/releases/1 … -amd64.img

http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/opens … md64.qcow2

I have an Ansible automation that creates KVM Guests and a CDROM with all the required metadata for cloud-init! Both Ubuntu and Debian (and also CentOS) work in my automation, only Devuan is missing...

I'm also planning to add support for building my own Devuan images, with Packer and Ansible. Maybe I can build those Devuan images with cloud-init by myself but, I would rather use an official version.

Cheers!
Thiago

Re: Cloud Init support on pre-installed images

afaict, the latest Devuan cloud-init, 0.7.9-5+devuan1, hangs around in the old ascii-proposed/main. The current version in beowulf/main is Debian's 18.3-6, which I take as a pretty good sign that there's a clear opportunity to become a Devuan package maintainer for this package. A step forward on that could be to drop a line at the freenode IRC group #devuan-dev.
