Freshclam error (?) message [SOLVED].

Hi!  smile

I edited /etc/clamav/freshclam.conf (and changed Checks -> 0), in order not to autoupdate.
I'm running as root "freshclam", if in need to update it's databases.
So far, so good.

My problem is, that every time freshclam updates the database, at the end displays the message:
"!NotifyClamd: Can't find or parse configuration file /etc/clamav/clamd.conf".

Clamd.conf exists and lives at this exact location.
Any hint, what this message means?  yikes
TIA!  cool
G.

It appears some friends on the World Wide Web discussed this very issue some almost 4 years ago:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/589318/ … und/632911
maybe that solution applies for you too?

Re: Freshclam error (?) message [SOLVED].

Oh I see!
Clamd is indeed convenient, but it's an ~600MB daemon.
No way to load at every boot a 600MB daemon, just for a manual scan of a bunch of files, in a monthly basis.
Clamscan, is more than OK to me.

Seems to be a bug to me.
Since I don't use clamd, it supposed not to bring up clamd related warnings.

THANKS Ralph!

EDIT:

What needed was commenting out the NotifyClamd line (at clamd.conf).
Thanks to J.R. from Clamav users maillist.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!!! :-)
G.
