Dmesg question [SOLVED].

Hi!  smile

How can I see my error bootup messages?
I opened as root the text file /var/log/dmesg, but it doesn't display all of them.
I tried also as root with the dmesg command, with similar results.

What I wanted to see, is a network manager related message, that said it that can't load the respective daemon.

TIA!  cool
G.

Re: Dmesg question [SOLVED].

For messages coming out during the bootup try control-s to freeze screen output and control-q to restart it. That should stop them long enough to copy them down (or take a photo of the screen).

Re: Dmesg question [SOLVED].

THANKS Chris!!!  big_smile

I pressed ctrl-S and although the messages disappeared from the screen, pressing ctrl-alt-F1 take me to the boot screen again, where I was able to read the message.
