mpv annoying pipewire messages

Hello everybody!

I get the following annoying messages in console when playing mp3 files

mpv --shuffle --volume=78 --no-video *

[W][16:58:58.002110] pw.module    | [   impl-module.c:   64 find_module()] could not open /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pipewire-0.3: No such file or directory
[E][16:58:58.002777] pw.core      | [          core.c:  389 core_new()] 0x56172de4c5f0: can't find protocol 'PipeWire:Protocol:Native': Operation not supported

Looks like something 'pipewire' related is missing. How to fix it?
Thank you in advance!

Maybe install pipewire if that's what you need?

Edit:

I've tried your command on my system. don't get similar message as yours and everything looks well and good.

sudo apt search pipewire-0.3
libpipewire-0.3-0t64/stable,now 1.4.2-1 amd64 [zainstalowany,automatyczny]
  Biblioteki dla serwera multimedialnego PipeWire

libpipewire-0.3-common/stable,stable,now 1.4.2-1 all [zainstalowany,automatyczny]
  libraries for the PipeWire multimedia server - common files

libpipewire-0.3-dev/stable 1.4.2-1 amd64
  libraries for the PipeWire multimedia server - development

libpipewire-0.3-modules/stable,now 1.4.2-1 amd64 [zainstalowany,automatyczny]
  Biblioteki dla serwera multimedialnego PipeWire - moduły

libpipewire-0.3-modules-x11/stable 1.4.2-1 amd64
  libraries for the PipeWire multimedia server - X11 modules

libpipewire-0.3-modules-xrdp/stable 0.2-2+b1 amd64
  libraries for the PipeWire multimedia server - xrdp modules

There  are three packages installed on my system. maybe you're missing them?

Re: mpv annoying pipewire messages

You were right. I was missing the 'libpipewire-0.3-modules' package. I installed it.
Now I get

mpv --shuffle --volume=78 --no-video *

Re: mpv annoying pipewire messages

Does sudo apt install lsp-plugins-ladspa solve the problem?

Re: mpv annoying pipewire messages

I installed it but it did nothing. I still get the same messages.

What I don't understand is why 'mpv' throws such messages if 'pipewire-audio' is not installed on my system.

When searching for pipewire apt shows me those packages as installed. Maybe you're still missing some or there is some configuration error?

Looks like a lot of the packages you have are not installed on my system

Re: mpv annoying pipewire messages

I installed the missing packages and there is some kind of an improvement. Since the 'mpv' shuffles the files I tested this a few times. The result is the same - no matter which song is played first I get this message

[E][11:55:35.888891][ plugin_ladspa.c: 339 impl_init()] failed to load plugin '/usr/lib/ladspa/ZamGate-ladspa.so': No such file or directory
[E][11:55:35.890677] spa.filter-graph | [  filter-graph.c:  908 plugin_load()] can't load plugin type 'ladspa': No such file or directory
[E][11:55:35.890709] spa.filter-graph | [  filter-graph.c: 2384 impl_init()] can't load graph: No such file or directory
[E][11:55:35.891041] pw.core      | [          core.c:  389 core_new()] 0x55cd9ac10520: can't find protocol 'PipeWire:Protocol:Native': Operation not supported

And then while playing the rest of the songs the message no longer appears. I find this strange.

Re: mpv annoying pipewire messages

What's inside your /usr/lib/ladspa/ directory? Is there ZamGate-ladspa.so present?

Re: mpv annoying pipewire messages

# ls  /usr/lib/ladspa/
lsp-plugins-ladspa.so

p.s. upon reboot the strange effect (regarding the first played song only) disappeared and now 'mpv' again throws the same bunch of message on every song.

Re: mpv annoying pipewire messages

So the message says that you're missing ZamGate-ladspa.so library. Does installing zam-plugins solve the issue? This package should provide the missing library.
