[SOLVED] create image for RockPro64 - howto

Hello ,

today in the post came the awaited PIne64 RockPro64

now would like to boot Devuan on it, but having difficulties.

relied on this help here

https://devuan.bio.lmu.de/devuan/dists/ … ble_images

to create "complete_image.img"

however the bootable image has issues and does not find kernel etc. and when comes to partitioner, does not recognize ext4 to mount etc. in short is missing here and there;

is there something else needed to make the above image "complete" ?

thanks

(ah sorry, forgot to add. the above is listed under "sd-card-images" i however have cloned onto eMMC, is that an issue?

Re: [SOLVED] create image for RockPro64 - howto

No kernel modules were found. This probably is due to a mismatch between the kernel used by this version of the installer and the kernel version available in the archive.

You should make sure that your installation is up-to-date, or - if that§s the case - try a different mirror , preferably dev.devuan.org

The installation will probably fail to work if you continue without kernel modules.

Contine the install without kernel modules

<Go back >             <Yes>    <No>

Chose <Yes>

next error message like

The current kernel doesn§t seem to support software RAID (MD) devices. This should be solved by loading the necessary modules.

<Gi bacj>                          <Continue>

The current kernel doesn§t support the Logical Volume Manager. You may need to load the lvm-mcd module

<Go back>                        <Continue>

when partitioner comes up would choose "use entire disk" "all files in one partion (recommended for new users), "finsih partioning" "write changes to disk"

however,

Partitions formatting

The attempt to mount a file system with type ext4 in MMC/SD card #2, partition #3 (mmblkip3) at / failed.

You may resume partitioning from the partitioning menu.

Do you want to resume partitioning?

<Go back>                              <Yes>     <No>
