Devun DVD Installer & Virtualbox UEFI, installaton issues.

Hi guys,

I am not sure this is a bug, however I can't install Devuan on Virtualbox in EUFI mode since it goes directly into the UEFI Shell; unfortunately this doesn't happen with the Debian DVD installer which starts properly.

Is there way to install Devuan with UEFI enabled? I need it to simulate a new install configuration, thanks!

I seem to remember that VB doesn't maintain NVRAM boot entries so try copying /boot/efi/EFI/devuan/grubx64.efi to /boot/efi/EFI/BOOT/bootx64.efi.

I might be wrong about the path to grubx64.efi so use this to check:

find /boot/efi -name grubx64.efi

Wouldn't be that optimistic. Devuan uses a different mode than Debian for efi boot, and that works fine on real HW. Just causes issues in VBox. Haven't got anything that the admins work on this topic.

The workaround described in my lengthy post works, just managed to install from the Daedalus preview.

I installed Debian + Refind, than I installed Devuan. Refind was able to detect the devuan (virtual) CD iso and starting it.
