problem has been solved by upgrading to Ascii.
The energy consumption on battery seems quite similar, so my previous observation might have been wrong.

Suspend on Devuan Jessie XFCE4 did not work on the T400 when closing the laptop-lid, but only when evoking suspension through the power button or by typing "pm-suspend" in terminal.

On Devuan Ascii however, the suspension also functions when closing the laptop-lid.

Hello ,

on a Thinkpad T400 i installed Devuan Asciii and everything seemed to function just fine (Suspend, Trackpad etc)
however, upon launching *powertop* i noticed that on Battery there was a discharge around 20W which seemed way to high to me (for a Laptop with internal graphics only on a Centrino Duo CPU (P8400 or P8600).

Therefore i tried with with Devuan Jessie and interesting, the powertop now reports around 12W on reduced brightness which seems OK to me.

So i think on this laptop Devuan Jessie is a good solution;

however, i noticed that the *Suspend* does not work out of the box, and even when i change the settings in XFCE (which were not setted to *suspend* upon closing lid), nothing happens.

Does someone know of a package i might miss to get this functionality back?

thank you,

yes, the error was probably on (my) mac-side.

resetted the whole network settings on the mac by deleting the respective *.plist and now the network sharing is functioning correctly and the mac is also shown in the devuan network.

Hello,

i have a small SingleBoardComputer Rock64 that i am trying to configure as a Print Server with Ubuntu 18.04 and CUPS for my Epson Et-4750.

The Printer is configured in CUPS @Rock64 where it is connected physically via USB cable.

The printer however is not shown in Devuan in CUPS at his location @Rock64.
It is recognized as Network printer (generically) because it is connected via Network Cable to the Router, but not specifically the Rock64 Configuration is shown.

but this also does not show up on Devuan Beowulf when i click on "Browse Network"

i have mostly resorted installing all packages 

bluetooth*

and 

blueman*

when bluetooth was needed.

it seems there has been not so much progress with bluetooth, especially when one wants to use alsa-only.

However, blueman may be gnome specific, and not inclueded in Devuan?
it always seemed to me that with gnome, bluetooth was neatlier integreated, but i would also prefer KDE over it.

Hello ,

i have noticed that on Devuan Beowulf i can no longer access the Smb share from my MacMini Server (running Mac OSX 10.6 hence Samba V.1)

on a separate partition running Ubuntu 20.04 Focal Fossa i noticed the same issue, but got cleared with the help of this trick here

however, on Devuan Beowulf, the same trick fails.

it seems also, that the 

gvfs-smb

package is not included?

Hello ,

i noticed that although running the *latest* Devuan Beowulf the following video would not play in Firefox 68.6.0esr

When i click on the second video
the message would appear *The media could not be played.

The same video would play fine however in Seamonkey Browser.

Wonder what is causing this behaviour?
(have installed Bluhell Firewall and Ublock Origin Extension)

Hello ,

today i tried to install an older game *Diablo

via Lutris

on my Computer running Devuan Beowulf.

The error i get is:

Vulkan is not installed or is not supported by your system

Is there anything i can do about it?
My graphics card is AMD Rx560.

Still getting error

E: The value 'beowulf-backports' is invalid for APT::Default-Release as such a release is not available in the sources

Maybe the error is related to the !Italian! sources.list?

i still could include it via Deb-Multimedia, but those packages are built against Debian, so it would be a double-risk, but most of the time it is quite a good solution. Still it would be nice to find the package in Beowulf.
Noticed that on Ascii it is included, and on Beowulf it seems only few Kodi-addons avaiable.

too bad i did not notice that= chimaera,

as i upgraded toCeres (Planet1) and my ability to rest*hibernate* and the like was gone.

it seems the

beowulf-backports

are not yet available,

so i resorted to include

ceres

and could install python3.8 from there (next to upgrade some other packages).
after i changed repository from

to

the packages from ceres would become installable (to solve the error above, again 

sudo hwclock --hctosys

had to be applied > so the system has problems with timezone fuss in the european-union > understandably)

hope this will not lead to further complications

the package python3.8 seems available in

Ceres (testing)

but the similar error as above would occur upon including the repository

i just recently upgraded to Devuan Beowulf.

For a program "SVP - Smooth Video Project")

i would like to install the newer version, but it requires Python3.8

can i yet install this on Devuan?

it seems it is available on Debian Testing
