The last time I updated my Nvidia drivers was probably before moving from beowulf to chimaera, today I tried updating them and the packages for it were held back.
Using --with-new-pkgs upgrade leaves me with this:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libcuda1-i386:i386 : Depends: libcuda1:i386 (= 418.211.00-1) but 470.161.03-1 is to be installed
libnvidia-fatbinaryloader : Depends: libnvidia-ptxjitcompiler1 (= 418.211.00-1) but 470.161.03-1 is to be installed
libnvidia-fatbinaryloader:i386 : Depends: libnvidia-ptxjitcompiler1:i386 (= 418.211.00-1) but 470.161.03-1 is to be installed
nvidia-driver-libs-i386:i386 : Depends: nvidia-driver-libs:i386 (= 418.211.00-1) but 470.161.03-1 is to be installed
Why would it still depend on the ancient versions? Any way to fix it?
Thanks in advance.
Not really an issue but more of a complaint.
Today I decided to upgrade from Beowulf to Chimaera doing everything as I was told to from the official site and guide: https://www.devuan.org/os/documentation … o-chimaera
Afterwards I restarted my PC only to find my wireless connection wasn't working anymore. As it turns out, wicd gets removed during the upgrade process and if you don't have another network manager installed you're fucked if you don't know that you have to manually edit Network-Manager's config and change managed=false to true under the [ifupdown] section before using something like nmcli to manually connect to the wifi network.
Had I not had a phone capable of connecting to the internet to help troubleshoot the issue I would have been stuck without an internet connection on my PC, it might be worth noting this kind of stuff on the upgrading guide.
