My go-to solution is downloading the yt-dlp_linux executable from their github first, renaming it to yt-dlp then just running yt-dlp -U when it becomes necessary. The main advantage of this method is getting rid of the python version mismatch of course, I've seen on an older ubuntu install how changing the system default python3 to something "too new" can wreck apt.
Consider adding crypto donation options, too. (Monero at least.)
Right now I'm still on Kubuntu 18.04 as I don't have the time nor a necessary backup hard drive (at least 4TB) to finally do the switch. I'll probably wait till Chimaera becomes stable to do it. Until that, I have a Devuan VM set to testing (I know, but it's to see how usable it is) and an antiX VM just to play around.
kwin can be restarted without any issue, but restarting kwin_wayland kills the session and logs you out. That alone is a good reason to stay on X. (sauce)
