why?
It wouldnt hurt to add 06disable-recommends also as it has effect now, for examle - beowulf: apt install curl with or without it
Why do you think it's tint2?
It was gone until I started using tint2 conf tool (tint2conf IIRC) again (maybe I was using it prior to "accident", dont remember).
o9000 is a superb developer and very responsive to issues opened on their gitlab account
Thats great news, I checked and it seems indeed as you described.
Bug report? IDK. Would like to use old version instead of apt provided one, but that's another topic...
It's the "brand new" tint2 (16.6.1-1), which is far from good shape, as many other programs.
Just FYI.
Everything installs fine (+network-manager-gnome), but no tray icon is showing up (tint2 and openbox in my case).
by default it should run from /etc/xdg/autostart/nm-applet.desktop.
So far I have tracked down kind of "dependancy" for that, which is python-xdg. BS it seems.
Just add nm-applet & to ~/.config/openbox/autostart and that's it. So far it works.
Wonder why python-xdg is not included in "dependancies" to work correctly or another solution provided. Or otherwise, people provided with information about situation.
BTW, Title should include word "SOLVED" before closing bracket, could not add this because what I think is limitation of "Subject" length.
This has puzzled me long time, but now it seems to be right time to ask, since Buster release and me going with Beowulf - wtf is going on?
First founding out Crunchbang and then not fully satisfied with it I sticked with some of the "fundamentals" - X, Openbox, Tint2.
Pinning programs to "taskbar" (like one would do on Windows) was kind of challenge with no GUI programs (Midnigth Commander, htop etc). Although there was/is Terminal=true it never worked, so I added xterm -e and it was so good Everything was so fine and perfect until Beowulf/Buster.
Now something has changed. Past "pinned" "taskbar" elements are launched with additional terminal window, which is an indication that Terminal=true option in .desktop files are finally accepted (and launcing my added xterm -e aswell).
I have no idea what is going on, but suspect that it has to do with gnome or freedesktop.
Can someone with knowledge enlighten me about what is controlling .desktop files and what major change between ascii/strech and beowulf/buster caused them to work correctly?
Of course this has nothing to with Beowulf, but rather with Buster (I guess).
Mini install with mini.iso, X, Openbox and Tint2. Dunst, libnotify-bin and here I am with "Battery low" message sitting on screen.
Only battery that I am aware of on this PC is bios battery, which I doubt this message is referring to.
Kinda stupid situation, dont know whether to cry or laugh, or even ask you what to do.
The answer is - same way as with https://wiki.debian.org/iptables
Create executable file /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/nftables with the content
#!/bin/sh
/sbin/nft -f /<path_to>/my.nftables.rules
and that's it
This is too much. Aborting...
/etc/modules has all nf_tables* modules loaded
/etc/nftables.conf has no effect
what else could be done / checked ?
