A brilliant and oh so helpful observation . . . NOT . . . roll

Have you ever considered creating such a solution and submitting it to Devuan for review?

When D1G was launched, I was the spam hunter and it never stopped. Something had to be done. Our current system has worked quite well for many years and makes very few false positives. And please remember that we had no control over the choices YOU made that landed you in SFS . . .  smile

Seems you have done your homework at least . . . Still no trust on this end though from the company you keep . . .

#6 Re: DIY » simple login gui » 2026-06-03 15:48:26

I find it interesting that the other "noob" here who is a smooth talker but has contributed absolutely nothing of value to Devuan, is so vocal about what Devuan is and isn't. Something is just not adding up but the words "hostile takeover" keep flashing in my thoughts.

Please have a look at this summary of a presentation from the Devuan conference in 2019 which describes "amprolla magic".

"What is amprolla and what does it do . . . or not do?  At the First Devuan Conference in April, Katolaz' presentation "The Quest for Minimalism" answered these questions.  This audio of the amprolla section enhances understanding of the screenshots below."

Pure genius!

But who is the infant? That is the question . . . wink

#9 Re: Off-topic » low end gaming on linux » 2026-06-02 20:24:46

golinux yawns at this infantile nonsense . . .

#10 Re: Off-topic » low end gaming on linux » 2026-06-01 20:14:39

Who's arguing? I have observed that many flesh and blood users these days are more machine than human . . .

@zapper . . . Because as you observed, they are narcissists and think they are soooo clever?

#13 Re: Devuan » Will Wayland on Gnome etc. work on Devuan 6 in the future release? » 2026-05-22 00:04:52

I am surprised Gnome has been a viable option for so long. Even more surprised that people actually use it.

This classic from 2012 nails it!!

Welcome aboard, soulstenance!

#16 Re: Other Issues » Widelands error » 2026-05-03 17:11:55

This forum has never provided the ability for users to post images directly. They have to be self-hosted elsewhere and linked..

#17 Re: Devuan » Age Verification » 2026-05-02 21:16:14

Isn't that the point of it? The end of anonymity and autonomous freedom.

#18 Re: Desktop and Multimedia » GTK2 Revival thread » 2026-04-30 14:59:54

blackhole: Yes. And in this case, that is not a bad thing. wink

#21 Re: Off-topic » Fluxer a Discord clone? » 2026-04-24 01:06:59

This forum is not a drunken brawl of consumption where itches get scratched on a whim. Here, less is always more. Something for voracious grasshoppers to contemplate . . . wink

#22 Re: Off-topic » Fluxer a Discord clone? » 2026-04-23 00:40:05

I don't see a need to add any more devuan-related communication channels. What is currently available works well.

#23 Re: Devuan » Devuan completely without systemd? » 2026-04-20 02:53:57

And it is a waste of devuan resources to repeat the obvious for the umteenth time . . .

A picture is worth a thousand words:

I know Red Hat well. When RH was in its infancy (just after Y2K), it was the first Linux system I ever installed.  That was at an "Install Fest" at the local LUG. One of the members of that LUG ended up working for RH (and I think still does) and sadly was responsible for promoting all the RH BS globally. I don't think we will even communicate again after a conversation I had with him last year. I really tarred and feathered him. Got it all out and it felt good!  big_smile
