Thank you for the knowledgeably information. Then I'm quite satisfied and will continue on my way of using Devuan. Thanks again and best wishes.
I have running Devuan (since Alpha1 until Beta) on Thinkpad T430 (64-bit version), in a virtualbox-VM (64-bit version) and on Mininotebook JVC731 (32-bit version), without desktop-environment, but with a windowmanager (JWM) and selfinstalled the needed software/programs. Regularly updating the systems and matching the repositories in /etc/apt/sources.list, but without installation of new release-images (e.g. netinst.iso).
How can I verify, which release-version is now exactly running on my system. Cat /etc/devuan_version says only „jessie“. Will there Debian-like the new release-version installed while „updating/dist-upgrading“?
In my case the Beta2?. Or must I do a complete new installation with the newer release-version, e.g. with the new Beta2-netinst.iso?
Thank you very much, dear experts, for any helpful hints.
