Thanks for all your help that this forum is noted for.

#2 Re: Devuan » Repositories » 2024-02-15 22:30:42

Anyone have an idea of how I can change to Devuan repositories or is that not possible.

#3 Re: Devuan » Repositories » 2024-02-15 22:18:56

Well then I guess I installed Peppermint.   I am befuddled myself.

#4 Re: Devuan » Repositories » 2024-02-15 21:21:05

No I haven't but remember this is a VIRGIN install.  Those repositories were added by the install process so i assumed they were good to go and I thought Devuan was based on Debian but with Systemd removed.   AMIRITE lol

I'll probably be back again sometime.

Is the Devuan servers down for maintenance as I cannot update just a bunch of

Could not connect to debian.map.fastlydns.net:80 (146.75.106.132). - connect (111: Connection refused) Cannot initiate the connection to debian.map.fastlydns.net:80 (2a04:4e42:8a::644). - connect (101: Network is unreachable

etc over and over

#11 Re: Devuan » Memory - neofetch vs screenfetch » 2024-02-04 19:05:23

What I meant was when neofetch is run it shows Xmib bytes
Screenfetch shows a much larger use of mib's

Does anyone have an idea/information on why the 2 mentions vary by over 300mb?

Never thought of that scenario.  Good idea.

Nah, I think I will stay here..  Just more comfortable.   I am familiar with Arch at the commandline but Arco just didn't feel right even after installing the software I wanted.
At root level command line it would take 2x's to get a letter to show.
Whisker started up in the wrong place, top instead of bottom.
h well, all is good here.

Well, being the idiot that I am I just had to try Arcolinux,   Well  that didn't work out at all.  Weird terminal input, whisker showing in the wrong place and just in general not comfortable.   Soooo, here I came back.   Such a pleasure.  I have to stop these urges to try a new Linux Distro.

I have to say the Devs have done a great job.  Devuan is GREAT.   Install was flawless and the amount of packages is way lower than any Debian-based release at 1502 and that is with all my games, well only 4 really, but still.   On others it was always over 2000 or high 1900's.  I view that as a big plus as too much software that isn't being used is kinda pointless.
Thanks again Dev's.   Great job.

Firefox, terminal, thunderbird do not center in window, however, Xfce Settings, Synaptic, Xfce4-appearance settings, Gnome disk utility do center in the window, so I am kinda at a loss as to why some  do center and others don't.
Any ideas?
