When trying to read out a CD with K3B, I would get the error message "Could not find libcdparanoia0".
A quick check revealed that both packages libcdparanoia0 and cdparanoia were installed but it turns out there's still another package cd-paranoia. Installing that one solved the problem.
An internet search didn't yield any meaningful hints and probably everyone else has figured out the problem on their own, but I still thought I might drop a note for anyone facing the same issue.
Btw shouldn't cd-paranoia be listed at least as a recommended package for K3B, if not a dependency?
Hi there,
thanks for all your work on this!
System
AMD Ryzen 7 1700
ASUS Prime B350 Plus
AMD RX Vega 56
Install
I did a fresh install from the netinstall ISO, choosing KDE plasma with sddm and everything went fine. The system rebooted into console, no graphical interface came up. Not surprisingly, startx failed as well.
amdgpu was installed, as was mesa, but the firmware-amd-graphics package was missing. While at it I also installed amd64-microcode, and when rebooting the graphical login came up fine.
When installing packages, I keep getting messages about being unable to correctly set the locale because LC_something appears to be missing. I'll look into this later, but I thought you might be interested in the firmware issue.
On my mobile machine I upgraded from Ascii which went just smoothly.
Thanks again for this great OS!
Hi there,
although I haven't got any experience helping with any distro yet, I'd like to offer a hand too. I have been using GNU/Linux for years and Devuan since the release of Ascii, and I am in the progress of learning some programming as well. At the very least I should be able to help with translations (German) if needed.
What can I do?
A belated Happy Winter Solstice!
I used to play chess online, and I love wesnoth, mahjongg and supertuxkart from the repos.
Admittedly I bought some games, too:
TIS-100, Opus Magnum and Shenzhen/IO - nice puzzlers!
Hacknet
Pillars of Eternity,
x3, X Rebirth, would like to peek into x4, but that's not really drm-free anymore.
Mount & Blade Warband
I must admit I have given most of these games only a superficial try but I still like them. The Zachtronics puzzles are quite a regular evening pastime, though.
