Dunno What the H#LL I'm doing but

I'm trying to install UFW.

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package ufw is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'ufw' has no installation candidate
root@bob:/etc/default#

OR does anybody have a default firewall script?

I am just coming off of TRUE OS as my main OS.    I swear I'm getting hacked via DBUS if that makes any sense.

ANyways I like GUFW so I can see active connections.   When I installed DEVUAN For the first time inside a virtualbox I got UFW and GUFW up and running right away.  Now I cant seem to install it.

thanks !

Also do any of you guy's use Apparmor in Devuan?

I managed to compile firejail with apparmor support in UBUNTU recently.

I don't see a firefox profile in /etc/apparmor.d so far in devuan

This may sound strange, but try running...

apt-get update

...first. Then try installing UFW.

I updated some files recently, newer versions of dbus from the ascii repo, and newer dbus has libapparmor as a dependency. First time it's been on my machine.

All I have in /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions is lightdm and lightdm_chromium-browser though, I do have FF installed on this machine but there's no profile for it in that folder.

Re: Dunno What the H#LL I'm doing but

I was all over the place with my first post.

the apparmor profile for firefox is in extras

/usr/share/doc/apparmor-profiles/extras

I'm trying  firejail compiled with apparmor support.   But I need to spend a good few weeks studying firejail .

------------------------------------------------------

I'm too much of a novice to understand, but I've always seen what seem to me, strange DBUS logs.

I also get plenty of logs whenever I enable apparmor on firefox, about denied operations.   Maybe everybody does.

Anyways.   UFW wouldn't install because I messed up my sources during install somehow.
I got it working.

For me, it's local network devices I'm concerned about.  My P.O.S xfinity modem comes standard with telnet, and like 4 other services.

So my own MODEM I'm leary of.

The xinfinity public wifi is shared , via my router, to the public even though I asked Xfinity to turn it off.
I know this because the MAC ADDRESSES are the same.

Theres that company in Europe I believe, that found like literally 30 ways to hack Xfinity modems.

Speaking of all over the place, is this a normal passwd file?   I did install virtualbox.   I don't remember the passwd file having that many entries at first.
