Sometimes when you post, it reads like you're on crack, and I love it
Nice job with the memory usage btw. I look forward to seeing the stats from your 64-bit build.
I noticed there was what looked like an openbox window border...is it also using openbox, or is that an awesomewm thing?
Keep it up.
BUSTED...ON TWO FRONTS!
Regarding crack: never used it, but I did crack my collar bone in a motorcycle accident in 1983. Not being one to leave things half finished, a few days later, I broke it completely.
Regarding Openbox: it's all Awesome; however, as I'm an Openbox lover, I made my own Openbox-like window control buttons and themes for this release. Awesome has so many window control buttons, that they can almost fill the entire title bar. One of my goals...as it was with MiyoLinux and Miyo-i3...is to try and make a system a little easier for people who may have wanted to try a window manager, but never felt comfortable enough to actually do so. One small part of that (for this release) is giving users a familiar look on the windows. So...yes, it looks Openboxy on purpose, but it's all Awesome.
Thanks! I may be a little looney at times, but I still think Linux is fun, and I want to try and make it fun for others. Plus, the occasional LOL goes a long way in cementing the air of professionalism that exudes from me.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
hi ,
you told about a new release ... where is the new iso please ?
Thanks in advance
Hi mchasard,
I only have the 32 bit version ready, but I'm also still testing it to make sure it's ready to be released for others. Normally, I try to release both 32 bit and 64 bit versions on the same day. However, if my testing of the 32 bit goes well, and if the 32 bit version is what you would like to have, I could go ahead and release it early. Just let me know.
Thank you.
Oh...okay...cough cough...
Thank you for posting anyway...cough cough...
Don't worry...cough cough...I won't enter you in the contest...
C'mon folksters!
Post a screenshot.
Who doesn't like a free t-shirt?
Hmmm...should'a offered cash...
...and in case I haven't said it often enough...
Whew! The 32 bit version of the Awesome build is finally finished! HOORAY! This has been a wild ride and a lot of fun. The 64 bit should go much quicker, and I hope to release them both soon.
I will now fess up...
I was in the middle of making new releases of Miyo-i3 based on Ascii...when I decided to check out the Awesome Window Manager. I was completely blown away with it. So...this has been a learning experience for me too.
If anyone is using Miyo-i3, I apologize, but I do believe that Awesome will officially replace i3 as an alternative to the Openbox versions of Miyo... You can still upgrade Miyo-i3 to Ascii if you want to continue using the i3 version.
Here are some screenshots of the final Awesome set-up out of the box...

With Compton, Conky, the menu...and an additional Screenshot utility running (other than the included Scrot)...hence the slightly higher RAM...

Thanks everyone. The Awesome build is coming along nicely. I'm almost finished with the 32 bit version...I've done a bit of changing since the last screenshot that I posted.
Also customized Slim for this upcoming release. Sorry, but if you install MiyoLinux Awesome, you get what MiyoLinux likes.
LOLOLOLOL!!!
LOL!
Still trying to find the right configuration to give someone new to Awesome a good experience while allowing veteran Awesomers the ability to not have to change too much. That's a task unto itself.
Until then...
Hey systemd...Don't Bring Me Down
Thanks everyone! Keep 'em coming!
It's also available in a woman's t-shirt.
C'mon...post a screenshot!
@catprints...no, I'm not sure if this is Mark Zuckerberg's wife or not.
Will this be filmed in front of a live studio audience?
Mmmmaybe?
Okay folks...it's time to show your Devuan swank!
This is an unofficial contest that isn't sponsored by Devuan whatsoever; however, it is sponsored by me.
Here are the rules...
1. Post your Devuan desktop screenshot...whether it's pure Devuan or a derivative.
2. Only one post per user!
3. OPTIONAL: Include any information about your system (a neofetch would be appreciated if possible).
What do you win? A super-duper, one-of-a-kind, neatsy-weatsy MiyoLinux t-shirt...of which, there are only three in existence in the world today! WOWZERS!!! LOLOLOL!!! Sorry...I can only do what I can do!
The contest will run from today (22 May 2018) until the end of May 2018 (31 May 2018).
The winner will be chosen (and announced) on 01 June 2018. How fancy or non-fancy your screenshot is has no bearing...each entry's name will be placed into a bowl, mixed up, and drawn at random. I just want to put a spotlight on Devuan and all of it's awesomeness...and the winner gets a prize...
Here's a picture of the t-shirt...
Thanks golinux and wdq...
Still working on it...
Custom themes, custom window icons, customizing the rc.lua, customizing the theme.lua(s), customizing the menu, and trying to give users (new to Awesome) a nice and fully-functional desktop out of the box...but allowing Awesome veterans the ability to not have to change much to suit their taste...all the while...still allowing both parties to "Miyo" it.
I hate to say it...but it's stinkin' awesome!
Stinkin'
The band I was in (1980s) played a couple of Night Ranger songs.

Fluxuan YouTube review!
Ron, the xfce4 power manager works on my "miyo mate". If you previously removed it, and if you don't want to install the xfce4-panel along with it...install it with this command...
sudo apt-get install xfce4-power-manager --no-install-recommends
I can't answer your second question. That's a question for AntoFox...the Mate maintainer for Devuan.
In looking at Debian's page, mate-power-manager is a separate package apart from mate-power-manager-common, and it appears to not be available in ASCII.
As mlsmith said, it also shows systemd as a dependency...or consolekit. This is just a guess, but perhaps the Devuan developers are still working on the actual mate-power-manager (?)...I don't know. Sorry Ron.
Ron, what happens if you open the terminal and enter...
mate-power-manager
I hope that's right since I'm unfamiliar with Mate still...
I never use either of them, so I'm not familiar with them very well. If memory serves me, I didn't include hibernate in the Jessie build, so that may have something to do with it.
This is just a guess, but you could try...
sudo apt-get remove --purge hibernate
...followed by...
sudo apt autoremove
...to remove uswsusp too.
Both hibernate and suspend rely on upower...but if you remove that, you'll probably lose your power manager too. Might wanna wait to see if someone else has better advice.
I've made a shutdown utility to use on future versions of Miyo. I'm using it now on the latest release instead of the default obsession utility...
My question is, for those who use Suspend, do you prefer the screen to be locked when you Suspend? Yes, no...doesn't matter?
I'm not asking in regards to MiyoLinux users; I'm asking in regard to anyone who uses Suspend on any operating system.
Thank you for any input!

Good luck! Hey...you might already be aware, but Plasma is offered now in the Ascii .iso.
I did all of the things above before it was officially offered.
^ Miyo is an awesome distribution, using connman for CROWZ with the connmanu-ui instead of csmt. Easy to add in the start command in ob, fb or jwm.
(sleep 3 && connman-ui-gtk --tray) &
cheers

Thank you for the kind words zephyr...but they're undeserved compared to what you do.
I've tried the gtk version of connman's gui, but I could never get it to present itself in a good manner. It was always "squished" as far as what was presented in the UI. Nothing I tried helped. So I bow to your developmentalistism.
@rivenathos - it was fun indeed. I like trying things like this...
@siva - will have to check out Rammstein.
Main glitch - after moving the panel to the bottom, when clicking on the menu icon in the panel, the menu will first appear at the top of the screen...then quickly move to the bottom of the screen above the panel. Kind of neat but all glitchified 'n stuff.
I used connman and cmst in the latest releases of MiyoLinux (Openbox), and they both work great.
