Thank you Terence.
xe-non had asked if adding OpenRC could be done with the Live .iso, so that's why fsmithred responded with the basic instructions of what one would have to do to install OpenRC on a system that had been installed using the Live .iso.
Your method and instructions for installing OpenRC and making it parallel at boot are great and will help many others. Thank you!
Can I do it (mate+openrc) using devuan_..._dvd-1.iso?
Forgot to mention that the netinstall .iso can also be used for this...that's what I used.
Can I choose mate like kde (on 4th step)?
Yes, Mate is there to choose from.
Sorry but that's wrong, I post the Link with ISO let you install 'OpenRC' and KDE from beginning, NO Postinstall, only Post-Parallelism!
fsmithred was speaking about the "Live .isos" which are different than the DVDs that you installed with. So, it would indeed have to be done post-install if a user has installed Devuan with a Live .iso.
I have a "Miyo-nized" Openbox version of Devuan with OpenRC that was "paralleled"...it does seem to boot faster.
Warning: Do not listen to this while driving. Side effects may include increased and/or involuntary pressure on your feet resulting in an extreme case a Speedingocitis.
Que viva OpenRC! Ciao
Viva jaromil e VUAs! Salute!
Loving the awesome 32bit version - easily the most usable version of awesome I have used.
Machine: Dell Inspiron 6400.
Thank you for that darry1966! One of my main goals is to hopefully provide a system that is user-friendly. I'm not always sure if I've accomplished that! LOL! So, your input is very much appreciated!
Cheesy video...great and fun song!
Hey systemd...Goodbye to You
Okay. That means you already had everything.
Did anything new get installed after running the commands?
Basically, the dist-upgrade is used to install any new packages (and dependencies) that are pertinent to the ASCII stable release that may not have been included in the previous releases before ASCII became stable...n'stuff.
Hi Ron!
Yes, you're good to go. The only thing that I can think of (if you haven't already done so) is to run a...
sudo apt-get update
...followed by a...
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Regarding less updates now...now that ASCII is stable, updates will be fewer and far between.
^ With your permissions of course!
zephyr
zephyr,
I appreciate that, but you don't need my permission. If I do anything that folks want to use in any shape, form, or fashion...I'm glad to have been of service. I wouldn't care if Debian, Ubuntu, or Manjaro used something of mine without asking.
...in fact...I'd like to see it!
A new release of Manjaro with a MiyoLinux wallpaper that still says MiyoLinux on it! LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!
^ WOW! Awesome wallpaper for CROWZ, like it a lot!
Love your artwork, gonna have to let me borrow it!
Have played around with obmenu-generator in the past, looks great!
cheers
zephyr
Oh dear...before I saw this, I got rid of that wallpaper and replaced it with another one that I made. The new one looks very similar, but I used a different font for CROWZ.
I went ahead and uploaded it to my pCloud account in case you might want it. The link will show you a preview. So, it's at the link below if you want to check it out. It's 1920 x 1080.
Ozi,
Don't mean to put you on the spot, but will you be providing an updated "DIY" build?
Have your Kirk Xfce version installed on a partition and loving it!
WOW! Writing this from the CROWZ Openbox version!
How do you pack so much stuff into such a small .iso?!?!?
...and how do you get things like Synaptic to open with pkexec?!?!? Does it have something to do with this...
/usr/lib/policykit-1-gnome/polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1 &
...and how do you get a 64bit with the items running at start-up to boot up at +/- 125 MBs of RAM?!?!?
...and how do you...
An absolutely great job zephyr. I'm in awe!
Now to try out your other versions as soon as I have time.
I'm on my phone...can't go into much.
I can't answer as to why the installer uses "pkgmaster" by default; however, I would use the recommended sources as given in the release notes...deb.devuan.
The expert install allows the choice to use deb.devuan.
The ascii-proposed isn't necessary to add to the sources.
Change backports to .deb.devuan also.
For one method to stop screen-blanking, read the following thread for fixes for lightdm and slim. I'm not sure which DM the Mate desktop comes with. Haven't tried the lightdm fix since I don't use it, but it should work.

Others may have a different or better method.
Congratulations to Zephyr once again!
...and in honor of Zephyr and CROWZ...
I know nothing about Lutris (sounds like a good thing though!).
I didn't add the ppa; I downloaded the .deb package from the link provided on the Lutris website. Installed it with the GDebi Package Installer, and it opened right up.
I have no games to try it out with though.
Hi everyone!
I wasn't sure where to put this, so if an administrator wishes to move it, please do.
I'm undergoing a major change in my personal life; I'll be starting a new job this Thursday (06-21-2018).
As such, I will be a bit overwhelmed with everything involved with it. It may take me a while to get back into the groove of things. Therefore, I'm humbly asking for the help of others here...
WIth this change, I may not be available to answer questions about MiyoLinux for awhile. So...I'm humbly asking that if anyone does happen to ask questions about (or have a problem with) MiyoLinux...and if another forum member can answer the question, please...PLEASE feel free to do so. I will check in as I'm able, and I will again announce when I'm back on track. Until then, I would deeply appreciate any help that I can possibly get.
With all that I can honestly muster...I say, "Thank you!"
Not being one to align myself with dickheadism, and being of sound mind and body...sans any reference to dickheadedness in regard to the body , and having the wherewithal of being both a member and an administrator of other forums, I do hereby declare that in reference to trollstances, administrators can certainly benefit from the input of forum members in regard to trollism; whereby, administrators can be alerted to certain things that may not immediately catch their attention otherwise. ...n'stuff.
...and for 2 years now, I thought I had come up with something nifty...
Stinkin' acronyms!
