#1 Re: Devuan Derivatives » LCOS : Lunduke Computer Operating System » 2026-07-13 21:21:24

I downloaded it to check it out. Like you said Duke Nukem, and Bryan does as well, it is light weight and based on Devuan. I love Devuan, and as long as Devuan stays the course, then I have no plan on ever leaving.....although it is nice to have another choice out there.

I am with you on this Uityyy. I am not sure where the rudeness is coming from, sounds like someone has an issue with Bryan Lunduke.

#3 Re: Hardware & System Configuration » [SOLVED] Did an update and now nvidia drivers aren't working properly » 2026-06-09 02:27:51

You have to install the NVIDIA driver again for the newer kernel. I do this every time I update the kernel.....however I am using a Liqourix kernel but the same goes for the standard kernel....or any for that matter. There might be a way to have this update automatically but that is beyond me.

#4 Re: Other Issues » [SOLVED] Using VMs with Devuan as host » 2026-06-03 19:25:59

I had this issue as well with VBOX. I did the following:

sudo modprobe -r kvm_amd kvm kvm_intel

Then add them to the blacklist in /etc/modprobe.d. If you don.t have a blacklist then create one, blacklist.conf.
Add the lines below, then save and reboot.

blacklist kvm_intel
blacklist kvm_amd
blacklist kvm

Cheers!

#5 Re: News & Announcements » How you can help Devuan » 2026-03-21 16:40:14

@goliniux ... Thanks! I have experienced some challenges with Devuan but was able to overcome them, sometimes with help. Currently using Excalibur, LXQt, Xlibre, with NVIDIA drivers (yuck, but I play games sometimes), on a Dell 9510 XPS. Working Great!

I really appreciate the Welcome.

#6 Re: News & Announcements » How you can help Devuan » 2026-03-21 01:00:34

Hopefully this is the correct group, sorry if it's not.

To the Devuan team: After testing and using Devuan (daedalus to Excalibur), I made a small $100 (BTC) donation to Devuan. I know it isn't much but as time goes on I will continue to donate. I am no developer or coder, just basically a Linux Enthusiast Superuser....... humble little ol' me. It was my thanks for y'all doing such a great job and having a decent stance on Freedom, keeping the politics out, and just focusing on good software. Like the good ol' Linux days. I have been a Linux user since 2004 and have supported other Distros, like Linux Mint, MX, and Mepis. It's now Devuan's turn, and I feel it's going to be a long relationship. smile

Thanks again Devuan Team!

#7 Re: Off-topic » XFCE is building a new WM and compositor for Wayland » 2026-02-08 16:58:03

@Calamity @greenjeans  I was LONG time XFCE user until their latest announcement. I have the same feeling that greenjeans mentioned above, so I moved to LXQt and Openbox. So far I am happy with LXQt, but what a shame the way XFCE went. It was going down hill for a while but this was the last straw.

#8 Re: News & Announcements » Announcing Devuan 6.0 Excalibur! » 2025-11-06 13:44:10

Thanks Devuan Team, and congrats! I upgraded to Excalibur on the 3rd (11/3/25) right after the announcement. The upgrade was smooth and I had ZERO issues. It has been working great so far and is stable! I will be making another donation to Devuan for all your hard work. I really appreciate the team's dedication to this project!

#9 Re: Installation » How to Install XLibre on Devuan Daedalus (MATE)? » 2025-08-25 14:43:52

@callmetango Well. I installed XLibre on my tester a Dell Precision 5510 with NVIDIA Quadro M1000M and all went well, very well. I even installed the NVIDIA drivers and tested a game using Stream and all appears to be working ok. I will continue testing but so far so good! Tell the team Big Thanks!

My main system is a Dell G15 5530 with an NVIDIA RTX 4060. When I get a chance I will test it out it as well.

Update: I am running Devuan Daedalus 5.0 and have tested both kernels 6.1.0-38-amd64 and 6.7.12-1-liquorix-amd64, with and without NVIDIA drivers. All OK, so far. No issues but I will continue to test and run the system the next few days.  This is on the Dell 5510.

#10 Re: Installation » How to Install XLibre on Devuan Daedalus (MATE)? » 2025-08-25 02:06:53

@callmetango Thanks for the Xlibre repository info! I will give it a shot tomorrow on my testing PC! Looking forward to it.

#11 Re: Hardware & System Configuration » [SOLVED] liquorix kernel on excalibur » 2025-08-18 00:20:05

I am currently running Daedalus with Liquorix Kernel 6.7.12-1-liquorix-amd64. I was running the same kernel on MX before moving to Devuan..... I am new to Devuan. I had issues with some of the standard kernels locking up after installing the NVIDIA drivers (I know, yuck, NVIDIA, haha) I have Dell G15 5530, basically a poor mans Alienware but it works great. I downloaded the deb files (image and headers) and installed them with apt. I want to try Excalibur but first I want to be sure stable Devuan works before getting to ambitious. smile If I have any luck with Liquorix and Excalibur in the future I'll let you know.
