Hi all,

At initial stage of my upgraded ascii system I lost ability for mounting other volumes on HDD from thunar, launching synaptic from application menu and may be some CD issue. I have been using gksu and modified fstab ( like old days) for ascii without any hassle.

Recently I upgraded my devuan jessie to ascii and found those problems just after upgrade. Then I found two debian bugs #842184 & #842378. Installed package 'policykit-1-gnome'  which was deleted from jessie during upgrade, Now my ascii is soid. Hope may help you.

Hi,

For my system with broadcam wireless and wicd-gtk installed last time I was in same situation. Then came to know about "rfkill" and installed the same. It is required probably for switch on/off wi-fi button in wicd gui. This may not be required if laptop has one. This may be set as depend for.

Cheers,

This is for all available packages of three releases of devuan but not for -update, -proposed, -backport & -security.
They are on development.
This may help you in your way or topic like " [SOLVED]Package updates in ascii? ".

Happy explore & cheers,

Hi all,

There was a thread of same topic in dng mailing list for interested persons here.

Here is the ref. http://devuanpackages.viralds.it/

This uses a DB to explore the package repo. and have very good design for new style/format.
I found this very helpful for any package searching with details of version & suite.
In my wish list that, it would be better to have a toggle/button to move from one suite to another for given package.
Now this can be changed from the url. and thus serve my purpose.
Search options may be package name or in description, not both. Now search for "base" gives result of "lsb".

Devuan now has own popcon server and a new package 'popularity-contest'.
Use of the package will populate the Popcon statistics.

Here is the link https://popcon.devuan.org/ .

Not related to the topic, may use 'firejail firefox-esr'.

Uninstall ' unattended-upgrades' if installed. Another way try with  " #  APT::Periodic::Unattended-Upgrade "0"; "

#9 Re: Other Issues » upgraded jessie have some systemd files » 2017-04-21 05:34:36

Yes, no problem with those files in system except those associated with some essential packages like udev etc not maintained by devuan. I understand now those service files and some zero bite files can be removed if i don't like "systemd" on my system. As i don't have package systemd , hope those socket, path files are no longer used by respective packages. Actually /lib/systemd/ is used by few other packages like slim. So i have some doubt before removing.

I have a upgraded jessie system, which is working fine for my normal daily use. There are some '/etc/systemd/', '/var/lib/systemd', '/lib/systemd/' and 'deb-systemd-helper'. Those are associated with package 'init-system-helpers'.
It seems that those dir/files are actually redundant now and hope will not be included in newly installed system.
