That actually looks like a fun experiment.

Currently running hardware includes a Dell OptiPlex 3010 desktop, a Dell Inspiron 531 desktop, and a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop.

https://github.com/budgie-desktop/budgie-desktop

Reminds me a lot of cinnamon, but a nicer version.  Or XFCE 4.12 (with all the conventional desktops based on GNOME, I still don't understand why xfce is trying to imitate them...).  Can't say no to Rammstein, either.

I think it's promising that they plan to switch to Qt with version 11.  Probably a better alternative since GNOME makes facepalm-worthy changes waaaaaay too often (eg, the "big tabs" problem in stretch/ascii).  Wonder how it'll fare compared to lxqt...

Re: For all of you GNOME lovers...

@rivenathos - it was fun indeed. I like trying things like this... tongue

@siva - will have to check out Rammstein. smile

Main glitch - after moving the panel to the bottom, when clicking on the menu icon in the panel, the menu will first appear at the top of the screen...then quickly move to the bottom of the screen above the panel. Kind of neat but all glitchified 'n stuff. big_smile
