Freezing in XFCE4

On my first install of i386 jessy I installed XFCE4 as my default DE. It would hang with no response to the mouse or keyboard. This is after about 15 minutes using a web browser(Firefox and Pale Moon). I've since reinstalled jessy because I and using MATE and jessy everthing is working as it should.

I've been using MATE now for a couple of hours and absolutely no hickups.
