Quiz of the day

I was set this question as a teenager, but I couldn't answer it.
Is there anyone else here on this forum that understands why.

Q: State the three primary colours.

Re: Quiz of the day

The problem is that you didn't specify whether you were asking about the three primary additive colors (i.e., the colors of light) or the three primary subtractive colors (pigment, dye, etc.) If the former, the answer would be red, green, and blue. If the latter, the most correct answer would be magenta, cyan, and yellow, although artists may say, red, blue, and yellow, which can serve as reasonable approximations.

Re: Quiz of the day

@stultumanto exactly, it has taken me a long time to learn how to not answer ambiguous questions.

Re: Quiz of the day

I was asked a similarly ambiguous question when I was at school:

Q: What is the commonest element?

I answered:
Hydrogen is the commonest element in the universe.
Oxygen is the commonest element on earth.

Both lines were ticked as correct.
