[SOLVED] Inkscape XML Editor does not write custom attributes

I'm trying to add a custom attribute to an svg file.
No matter how I do that -XML editor or an extension- I get the same error:

Invalid attribute: "shaper:cutDepth" found

.

This is an attribute to attach cut depth to svg file to be used on the Shaper Origin (hand-helt CNC router)

I tested the same ting with a LinuxMint installation and inkscape 1.2 which worked fine.

Inkscape versionin excalibur, which I use:

$apt-cache show inkscape
Package: inkscape
Version: 1.4-6
Installed-Size: 111139
Maintainer: Debian Multimedia Maintainers <debian-multimedia@lists.debian.org>
Architecture: amd64

.

Some guy from the german Debian Forum, just tested it on Debian unstable, also with no problem.

So either my installation is somehow broken or the inkscape Verion of excalubur.

EDIT: the mentioned Debian user also tested it on Debian stable for me, which also worked fine.
so something seems to be off with my installation.

Re: [SOLVED] Inkscape XML Editor does not write custom attributes

Well, seems there is a reason, why the saying goes "Asking questions helps" (not answering them).
Shortly after I posted this I found a post in the inkscape forum related to another erratic error.
Seems the preferences.xml in the user profile gets broken from time to time.
Deleting that and start inkscape, which generates a new on o startup, fixed the problem.
There was also the hint to do a backup of a working preferences.xml, so you don't have to start from teh default next time inkscape breaks yours.
