refracta 32

Just installed. Nothing else done...

Firefox connects with LAN (wired) as you see, I write with it in that forum now!

Apt and synaptic refuse to update using sudo.

Wrong url or other reason (url's for Germany/Luxemburg ?)

Re: refracta 32

There are no words...
The case is unique, almost clinical.
7th year on the forum, more than 200 posts and I need to start a new thread with a question that has been raised here many times.

Re: refracta 32

Hello:

Seeing that today is Wednesday 7 and I remembered to take my pills.  8^°

A couple of hints.

1. No. That is not it.

2. To (very loosely) paraphrase what someone once said about something ...

You're holding doing it wrong

Hopefully, that should send you on your way.

Best,

A.

BTW: do read the Release Notes for every release, that's exactly what they are for.

Re: refracta 32

If apt fails, there should be error messages.

Run this command:

sudo apt update

Post the output in a reply.

Re: refracta 32

Do you think it will help him?
7 years was not enough to learn how to work with apt?

Re: refracta 32

oh! I have real enemies here? probably... the world is full of disfunctioning people killing their time (and more) writing critics in forums...

to the thematic sitself:

I did simply restart with the burn USB stick and write now with the stuff of that iso:

exactly the same comportment!

but, as I did would answer directly both above silly dilly persons, the forum machine, no, not it, but Firefox for it, did explain that  "uou (I, also) use a unsecure connection, etc."  as I did begin to enter my password.

my PC is at the same place since ab. 30 years and is DIRECTLY (wired) connected with the IAD (internet box) about 20 cm away from the public connector, directly, used as I by millions of German people! I can not change the internet box, but it is probably possible, that all the German rules are not any more accepted international (please don' t forget: java cam from Germany, Star Office cam from Germany, and Open Office, the shrinking form of it, also, of course, as well as KDE!)

Re: refracta 32

Since yesterday, apt has been failing for me on a Chimaera-based Refracta system. It appears to be due to some kind of network issue. I assumed that it is (most likely) being caused by my ISP, but I may be wrong. Anyway, I was wondering if maybe the OP is having the same problem. However, without seeing the error messages I can only guess as to what the problem might be.

@pcalvert
Daedalus, right now synaptic is updating 63 packages.
